Farm School Curriculum
Why It Works
This isn’t just farm information pulled from the internet and turned into a worksheet. This curriculum was created by a third-generation farmer and is based on the same real-life knowledge, skills, and hands-on lessons we use at Vine Tree Farm School.
We teach children how farming and animal care actually work, while making the lessons simple and easy for parents to teach at home.
And we don’t stop at the reading. Each lesson includes engaging activities, experiments, observation challenges, games, and ready-to-print resources that help children put what they are learning into practice.
Everything is planned for you. Open the lesson, gather a few simple supplies, and you have a complete, engaging two-hour class to enjoy with your child.

Farm Foundations is a 4-lesson printable farm animal curriculum designed to take learning beyond a basic information sheet and worksheet. Each lesson includes the information students need to learn, questions to check understanding, and hands-on activities that help them put what they learned into practice.
Students will learn about:
• Animal Identification
• Farm Animal Behavior & Safe Handling
• Animal Safety
• Keeping Farm Animals Cool & Heat Stress
The course includes activities that can be completed at home, on a farm, or while visiting places like a zoo, park, or petting farm. Students do not need to live on a farm or own livestock to complete the course.
Activities include animal observation challenges, identification activities, a flight-zone demonstration, safe-handling scenarios, an Animal Safety & Behavior Scavenger Hunt, animal field journals, heat-stress activities, a cooling experiment, designing a cool animal pen, and more.
The course also includes separate printable activity pages that can be taken along on field trips or printed for multiple students.

Recommended for ages 5 and up. Younger students may need help reading and writing, and all activities involving animals should be completed with appropriate adult supervision.
